Have no fear! For God has not given you a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). In every aspect of your life, do not allow fear to keep you from moving forward. The fear of failure or of being judged; the fear of inadequacy or of disappointing others; the fear of not being good enough, smart enough or attractive enough only exists to prevent you from even making any attempt to move forward. Sometimes, it may seem easier to just stay put because you’ve gotten comfortable. However, this should not be an option for you, as you cannot grow stronger spiritually without being challenged. You may not be entirely comfortable with where you are; but the uncertainty and your fear of the unknown keeps you at a standstill.
Strongholds for Your Mind
Fear is just one of the many tools the Enemy uses to get into your head, to set up strongholds for your mind. His strategy is designed to cut you off before you even get started. This is to squash your every attempt of trying to get ahead, of doing better, feeling better or being better. He can’t have you believing “that with God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27), that God’s grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9) and that “you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you” (Philippians 4:13). He rather have you believe “you can’t or you will never make it, and why bother”, so that your focus is no longer on God, but on your circumstances.
Have No Fear; Step Out on Faith
The only way that you can grow stronger in your faith, is to be continually tested. To be fearful, reflects a lack of trust in God, the seed that He has planted within you and His ultimate plan for your life. God has a purpose for each of us and He knows why He specifically chose you, to carry out your own unique mission. What He has delegated to you can only be done by you, and no one else. The good thing is that what God has planned for you to do He has already equipped you to do, you just haven’t tapped into it yet. Trust, that He knows the plans He has for you, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11) and that they will be “immeasurably more than all you can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within you” (Ephesians 3:20). God’s best is out there. Have no fear…Step out on faith and allow God to do the rest.
