Christmas yet again is upon us! Every year, I have to think about my response to well-wishers. Do I simply ignore the greeting, whether by phone, email, or text? If in person, do I smile and keep it moving? “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Holidays”, and “Happy New Year” are what I frequently hear at work. This year, my response has been, “I don’t observe holidays, but I will enjoy my time off. May you stay safe and blessed”. It makes me feel a little uncomfortable because Christians may believe I’m some heathen/atheist. I know why I don’t observe it, but I should ask them, “Why do you observe Christmas”? Is it for the children or tradition? Is it for the festivities, gift-giving, or family? Does your observance of this “holiday” have anything to do with Christ, whom Christians claim is the reason for the season?
“This people draw near unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men”. (Matthew 15:8-9)
“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things you do.” (Mark 7:7-8)
Christmas Has Nothing to Do with Christ
Most Christians would say they observe Christmas to honor or celebrate the birth of Christ. However, their actions say the exact opposite. Yes, they’ll have a Christmas tree in their homes with the biggest wreaths on their doors. They’ll be singing songs about Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas trees, and kissing under the mistletoe. They’ll tell their children or grandchildren that Santa’s coming to town and that he knows who’s been naughty or nice. The radio will be playing all the usual seasonal tunes and it will be Christmas movies galore. Occasionally, you’ll hear a “Silent Night” or “Joy to the World”. However, it’s clear to those with eyes to see and ears to hear that Christmas has nothing to do with Christ. If Christians really pondered this, they would recognize the lies and the deception.
“Thus says the Lord. Learn not the way of the heathen and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people[are] vain: for [one] cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.” (Jeremiah 10: 2-4)
Whose Birthday is the World Celebrating on Christmas?
Christ was not born on December 25th, and Scripture doesn’t even substantiate a winter birth. My question is, whose birthday is the world preparing to celebrate tomorrow? It may surprise Christians to know that there are many pagan gods from which to choose. There’s Nimrod, Buddha, Krishna, Tammuz, Osiris, Horus, Adonis, Mithra, and Prometheus, just to name a few. Many already know of the pagan origins of the day, but choose to ignore that fact for their traditions. They won’t let something like truth or facts stand in the way of them taking part in this yearly ritual. Many times they’ll seek to shoot the messenger rather than the ones that promulgated the lies. Satan’s agents have them worshiping the “Sun”, just as they do on Sundays, rather than the “Son”. They say God knows their heart, which is true. He tries the reins.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:9)
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ” (Colossians 2:8)
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Roman 12:2)
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16)
Honoring Christ Means Following His Example, Not the World!
We are not to worship the Creator or Christ the way the heathen/pagans worship their false gods. When the world is on one accord, true worshipers of the Almighty should by default be heading in the opposite direction. The puppet masters have slowly, but surely, moved the world to the worship of their god (Satan). They have forced his values and laws upon us so subtly that most cannot discern they’re worshipping Satan. Under no circumstances are we to be a friend to this world. We’re not to conform to this world, but to be set apart from it. Aligning ourselves to this wicked world means aligning ourselves to its prophesied destruction. If Christians truly want to honor Christ, they should follow his example and do what he tells them to do!
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9)
If You Love Me, Keep My Commandments!
Christ gave no such command to his followers to observe the day of his birth, but his death (Passover). None of the disciples or apostles observed Christmas either while Christ was alive or after his death. He said, “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). “If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.” (John 15:10). There are thousands of religions, and the puppet masters tell us there are many paths to Almighty God. Understand, that though there are thousands of religions, there are only two paths you can choose from. One path leads to The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. All other paths lead to the god of this world, the Father of Lies, the Author of Confusion…Satan!
How Are You Honoring Christ by Celebrating Christmas?
Your observance of Christmas is vain. You can’t just take a day the world chooses to worship Satan and slap Christ’s name on it! Then bring in pagan practices that all worship Satan, then try to mask it over with a “Christ” here and there. Where is the respect! Christians will observe any worldly celebration given to them but refuse to observe any of God’s Holy days. Christ honored the Father in a way that was pleasing to his Creator, not the world. How are you honoring him by celebrating Christmas, knowing that December 25th is not the day of his nativity?
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)
“You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4)
