The Enemy’s Lies & Accusations

By Kendra Clarke

It doesn’t matter who we are, our profession, our job title, how many people we manage, how many zeros are currently in our bank account and whether or not we are Christians, etc. The enemy does not discriminate as he is an equal opportunity destroyer. Consider this, if he had the audacity to approach Jesus, who was sinless and spirit-filled and whose eyes was not fixed on the likes of this world, while he was on a forty day fast in the wilderness, why would he not come knocking on our door? It’s not like we are difficult to find. As a matter of fact, many provide him free entry and room and board, so he doesn’t need a key.

Major Instigator

The enemy is a major instigator and enjoys starting trouble. You may be going along about your business and all of a sudden stuff starts jumping off for what appears to be no apparent reason. Trust, there doesn’t have to be a specific reason for the enemy to set his eyes on you other than sheer hatred. You have to look at it from a spiritual standpoint. The enemy comes at us because he knows the depths of God’s love for us and the lengths he went to, to save us. He hates who and what we represent and he hates God. Satan knows the hurt it brings upon God when we turn away from Him, curse Him and take Him for granted, so he uses us as a means to an end.

To the enemy, we are only pawns in a game, but to God we are everything. Stuff happens in life that can’t be avoided or explained away, but know that whatever the reason, God has the ultimate say. Yes, Satan will lie and accuse us both day and night, even going to our Father to slander us as he did in the Book of Job, but Jesus intercedes or intervenes on our belief. God knows who we are. He knows our limitations, our hearts and just what is needed to get us over life’s hurdles. What the devil will use to harm us out of intense hatred toward us, God will allow out of His unconditional love for us.
