Living in a World of Sin

We need not look too long, too hard or too far to see what time it really is. We are living in a “do what you want to do as long as it makes you happy” kind of world which is indicative of the sickness that has been allowed to fester and metastasize within our society. Sin is in, while living righteously is ignored. Take your pick of sin… hate, violence, rape, stealing, murder, covetousness or greed, lying and scheming, drugs and alcohol abuse, idolatry, adultery, sexual immorality, homosexuality, bestiality, incest, crimes against children and pedophilia, children disobeying or dishonoring their parents, etc.  Nothing is off the table! It  seems as though anything goes as long as it is counter to the Father’s perfect Will.

Sin is Rebellion

Many have been so desensitized by the dysfunction in this so-called physical reality, that they are ignorant or blinded to the spiritual reality that exists all around them. This world conditions us to focus on that which we can see, providing all types and manner of distractions to stimulate our five senses, while encouraging us to disregard that which is unseen, even though what we can see is temporal and the unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18). Everybody is so busy living out their lives and making future plans that being about the Father’s business takes a backseat. “Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit” (Romans 8:5). Living to our flesh will always lead us down the path to sin and sin is rebellion against the Most High. It is what creates a barrier that separates us from the Father.

How Did We Get Here?

How did we get here? We didn’t just arrive here yesterday. No.. it has been a gradual process where the Enemy’s schemes have been used and perfected from generation to generation. He has been busy behind the scenes setting up this alternate world system, which is the complete anthesis of our Father’s Kingdom.  The signs and warnings have always been there, we just couldn’t see them because our eyes were fixed on the wrong things. “The serpent is more subtile than any beast of the field…” (Genesis 3:1) and he is using the same strategy today that he used to ensnare the first man and first woman, and those that came after them. Satan knows the longer he can hold our focus or steal our gaze, the greater chance we will turn from or not hear our Father’s instructions and thus will be out of His perfect alignment. The goal was then and has always been to blot out the memory of our Heavenly Father and to elevate himself to the top spot.

Nothing Is New Under the Sun

How did we not see this coming? Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells us plainly that, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun”. Clearly, we did not take heed or truly grasp the gravity of that statement. Absolutely, nothing is new! Everything has been recycled and re-packaged to us as some new innovative concept, but it is the same old tired story that our ancestors lived through that we have not yet learned from. Their sinful pride, immorality, wickedness, disobedience, rebellion, idolatry, and their pursuit of all things to feed their flesh contributed to the destruction that the Most High sent upon the earth. “Then Yah saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Yah said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them” (Genesis 6:5, 7).

Yah is Merciful and Just

Doing evil was so popular and sinning was so widespread and deeply rooted, that it polluted everything on earth. Yah being so merciful and just, gave mankind numerous opportunities to turn from evil, to wipe the slate clean so that He wouldn’t have to destroy the earth. He even sent Noah and Methuselah to plead with the sons of men saying, “For thus saith Yah, return from your evil ways and forsake your works, and Yah will repent of the evil that He declared to do to you, so that it shall not come to pass. For thus saith Yah, Behold I give you a period of one and twenty years; if you will turn to me and forsake your evil ways, then will I also turn away from the evil which I told you, and it shall not exist saith Yah” (Jasher 5:7-8). Day after day, month after month and year after year for one hundred and twenty years did they speak these words, but they fell on deaf ears. Yah was sorry that He made man on the earth, and it grieved His heart” (Genesis 6:6)

The Writing is on the Wall

Just as yesterday, we just don’t want to do right. We want to live sinfully and lawlessly, not righteously. We didn’t want to obey the Most High then or submit to Him because we wanted to do what we wanted to do. Is it any wonder that we provoked the Father to anger and our own destruction? How we must have hurt him so and continue to do so even today. We know not our history and thus we are destined to repeat it. Mankind did not hearken unto the Father and so they were utterly destroyed. Today the world is traveling on the same trajectory, provoking the Father yet again and ignoring all the signs and warnings that are signaling that the end is near. Understand that the writing is on the wall, so it is not a matter of if, but when. Now is the time to repent of the evil that we have done, turn away from evil and turn back to the Most High before it is too late.
