We often lose patience while waiting for God’s timing. This is because from our vantage point, when stuff doesn’t happen when we want them to happen, we incorrectly conclude that nothing IS happening. Losing patience often leads us to take things into our own hands because we believe God is not moving fast enough for us. When we move ahead of God in any situation, we take the trust out of God’s hands which then places it squarely in our own. When this occurs, we are essentially saying to God that, “We got this!” and thus God’s intervention is not required. This ensures a life of un-necessary stress, frustration and disappointments.
We must remember, that God is God. He is not obligated to tell us what He is doing while He is doing it. Furthermore, He won’t always allow us a glimpse into His plans. For those who love Him and are called by His purpose for their lives (Romans 8:28), they are assured that all things will work together for their good. To experience this awesomeness, we need to trust and wait for Him to act in His time and in His own way. It’s a win-win situation for us, when we choose to stand on God’s promises. When we keep our hands off and allow God to work things out for our good, it is then that we truly experience utter peace and tranquility regardless of the chaos swirling around us. Anyone that boasts in their own might and believes that they will do just fine without Him, are misguided as John 15:5 says,
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
